THE UNDERGRADUATE ENGLISH ASSOCIATION AT

THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

OUR PURPOSE

Our purpose for the 2019-2020 school year is to foster a community for UEA members that takes the interdisciplinary, open-minded and welcoming environment cultivated within the classroom and expand to outside Park Hall.

We wish to instill a mentorship program between UEA members that prepares students for life after graduation and helps them take advantage of the opportunities UGA and Park Hall have to offer.

OUR MISSION

The Undergraduate English Association at the University of Georgia is an extracurricular community dedicated to the English majors, minors, and enthusiasts who study in Park Hall.

We strive to host a variety of events that provide services to English majors. Some of these events allow undergraduates to meet professionals who attained an English degree but dispersed into different professional fields.

THE 3 C'S:

Our mission revolves around the three C’s:

Fostering a welcoming community and safe space in which English majors create lasting connections with like-minded individualism, Providing career counseling to English majors and career information about the marketability of an English degree, & celebrating the creativity of our English students through events focused on creative writing, poetry, literary appreciation, and more.
